#### Lesson Activities:
1. **Introduction (10 minutes):**
- Greet the students and have them sit in a circle.
- Introduce the topic by showing color flashcards (red, yellow, blue, green, orange, and purple).
- Ask students if they remember the primary colors from the last lesson focused on colors (red, yellow, and blue).
- Explain that today they will learn about mixing these colors to make new ones (secondary colors: green, orange, and purple).
2. **Color Identification (10 minutes):**
- Show each primary color flashcard and ask the students to repeat the name of the color.
- Show examples of objects in the classroom or pictures that match each primary color.
- Do the same for secondary colors (green, orange, purple), asking if any students already know their names.
3. **Color Mixing Demonstration (15 minutes):**
- Set up for painting. Ensure each student is wearing an apron or old t-shirt.
- Using the paint, demonstrate mixing:
- Red + Yellow = Orange
- Blue + Yellow = Green
- Red + Blue = Purple
- Let the students see how the new colors are created by mixing the primary colors.
4. **Hands-On Activity (20 minutes):**
- Provide each student with a mixing palette and small amounts of red, yellow, and blue paint.
- Encourage them to mix the colors themselves to create orange, green, and purple.
- After mixing, students can use their new colors to paint a simple picture (a rainbow, a fruit bowl, etc.).
5. **Art Collage Project (15 minutes):**
- Hand out colored paper (red, yellow, blue, green, orange, purple).
- Help students (teacher uses scissors if necessary) cut shapes from the colored papers.
- Provide a large paper for each student to glue their colorful shapes onto, making a collage.
- Discuss the colors used in their collages.
6. **Wrap-Up and Review (10 minutes):**
- Gather the students back into a circle and review the primary and secondary colors.
- Ask students to show their art and name the colors they used.
- Praise their efforts and creativity.
#### Assessment:
- Observe students during the hands-on activity to see if they can correctly mix colors to form new ones.
- Give positive feedback for correct color identification during the review.
- Display students' art around the classroom as a form of positive reinforcement.
---
#### Homework (Optional for this age group):
- Send home a simple coloring sheet with various objects, asking children to color them using primary and secondary colors (guide parents to support this).
- Encourage parents to discuss colors with their children at home, pointing out various objects in different colors.
